Architectural shingles are heavier and more wind-resistant than three-tab because of their laminated, multi-layer construction. The fiberglass mat provides the structural base, asphalt makes it waterproof, and the granulated ceramic surface protects against UV radiation and provides fire resistance. We install them over synthetic underlayment with ice-and-water shield at valleys and eaves.

Shingle Selection
We inspect your existing roof deck and sheathing, measure the area, and help you choose between architectural and three-tab asphalt shingles. Color samples brought to your Savannah home.
Tear-Off & Deck Prep
Full tear-off to the deck. Old shingles, deteriorated felt, and corroded flashing removed and hauled to the dumpster. Deck inspection catches hidden damage — rotted sheathing, water-stained OSB, nail pops — before it's buried under new shingles.
Underlayment & Flashing
Ice-and-water shield bonded at valleys and eave lines. Synthetic underlayment over the full deck. New aluminum drip edge at every eave and rake. All flashing — chimney, pipe, vent, wall — sealed and secured before a single shingle goes down.
Nailing & Overlap
Starter strips along the eave, then field courses of architectural shingles with manufacturer-specified offset and overlap. Each shingle nailed in the designated zone with 4-6 fasteners. Ridge cap shingles hand-nailed at every hip and ridge for a finished, watertight top.
